ok. my little brother tossed my camera down to me and i dropped it. not the best idea ever, but when i turned my camera on it said "the card is locked" so i took the sd card out and flipped the switch to unlock it. when i put the card back in and turned the camera back on it said the same thing"the card is locked" what should i do? i already tried to unlock it and it's unlocked and it still says the same thing! please help!

The SD card slot was most likely broken in the drop, the same thing happened to me once and that's what it was. I suggest bringing it to a family member that's good with stuff like that or calling them and telling them about maybe they can help. If you don't have any family that's good with that then you can just look on the cameras brand website (E.G. Cannon) and see if they have a tech support page. And if you can't find any of that then just look up a camera repair shop in your near by area.

I hold down the end button(which for my phone is the off button), but 2 seconds later it turns back on.

Try pulling the battery, then waiting 30 seconds, and put it back in, see if that worked.

If not, try using canned air to blow around the button to make sure theirs nothing in there messing with it.

Turn your Smart Phone into a WiFi hotspot.

The masses cheer! The oppressed rise up!

Have you ever carried around your laptop, and been unable to access the internet at the convenience that you would like? So many times, I have.

What this software upgrade from TapRoot would do, is turn your WiFi enabled Smart Phone into a secure wireless access source for any 3G data networks.

For those of us in the mobile community, for those who are always on the move, for those who think ClearWire is unfeasible, this maybe the solution that we have been searching for.

"The WHS server and the WalkingHotSpot handset client are commercially available for immediate implementation in carriers networks."

While this has been circulating for a while now, finally, tomorrow has arrived today!

WIfi phone for Skype - which one best

Reply by Nowsupplier

Hi guys,

I have been using Skype extensively for over a year and have a Linksys cordless phone at home which works rather well. What I really would like to do now is buy a Wifi phone, so I can use Skype in Internet caffes or even the local park where there is free Wifi.

Which phone is best in terms of this? It would need to work on networks in coffeeshops as well as free wifi, which I dont think Belkin does? SMC sounds best?

Pleae help - they all sound great!

Actually, the Belkin and the SMC WiFi phone are EXACTLY the same hardware-wise. The only physical difference is that the Belkin is black and the SMC is white. They even both have the same basic firmware minus a tiny tweak by their respective OEM's but the firmware of both have been proven to be interchageable right here on these forums (search the first page of these subforums).

As for using ANY Skype WiFi phone at hotspots, parks, cafes, etc: please be forewarned that no Skype WiFi phone currently on sale can handle web-based logins! So BEFORE you purchase any WiFi phone make sure that the hotspots you want to visit do NOT employ a web-based login. (Most of the world's hotspots do so. Free, public, for pay or otherwise.)

If you have checked to make sure the hotspots you want to visit don't require web-based authentication, then your choice of a WiFi phone is purely up to you. They all have the same basic firmware and basic pyshical footprint. They are all candybay sytled phones in either black or white. None support the Skype chat feature.
